Suicidal Economics

Thanks to iPad, content people can leverage the hardware hype for previously free but now paid subscription. Since the eyeball biz model kicked off with advertisement revenue, journalism, movies, music, and even software become FREE in return for "potentially" large enough eyeballs/clicks/LIKES for the advertisement dollars. That's suicidal.  But isn't it true that advertisement has been the revenue source for journalism for ages?

Quality content should command a value. Leveraging the Pad hype is not a cure. Supply and demand is.
